| No7 Beautiful Brows Pencil ~ Blonde |
[03 Apr 2007|12:43pm] |
This is the best brow pencil I have used so far. I used to use Lauder's Automatic Pencil for Brows but they discontinued it and you couldn't sharpen it so the tip was always blunt ~ not ideal for neat brows. However, No7's is very soft and you can sharpen it. The pencil part is made of a smooth material that doesn't splinter like some wooden pencils. There's also the useful brow brush on the other end with a lid to protect it in your make-up bag. What else can I say ~ it does everything!

I just have to write about this product:

According to the website www.leestafford.com, it 'provides rigorous repair for your hair and is designed to fight the damaging effects of straightening irons, whilst it refreshes, cleans and revitalises'.
It really works! I have used it once only, and the condition of my hair has improved dramatically. I mean, it's gone from damaged to healthy in one go! I'm so pleased!

I just ordered this:

According to www.karinherzog.co.uk, it "features 2% oxygen, Vitamins E, C, D, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, sesame and avocado oils, and of course lashings of real Swiss chocolate.
These elements have rapid results and Choco² the perfect ‘pick me up’ for skin in need of TLC. The intense and accelerated activity this cream encourages within the skin lasts for hours and is the key to the dramatic effects this product generates. A truly advanced anti-ageing formula working to help increase and stimulate fibroblasts within the skin."

| Fake Bake Face |
[16 Feb 2007|04:23pm] |
This is my favourite product right now:

It's a tinted self-tanner for the face with an anti-ageing ingredient (Matrixyl-3000) and botanicals which smooth your skin. So it's a tan and a treatment in one. I love it because I've been putting it on in the morning after my moisturiser and because it's tinted, you don't need foundation. So I just use a bit of concealer on any blemishes, then blusher and bronzer and I have gorgeous skin!

| L'Oreal Nutrilift |
[03 Feb 2007|11:57pm] |
This:
is great! I had a shower and scrubbed with a sisal mitt:
in the shower and then applied the lotion and wowww - my skin is so soft! I have been neglecting it lately because I've been so busy but this has got it back to perfection after one use! Veryhappy. It cost £4.69 which is quite a lot considering I will most likely use about one bottle per week, the amount I like to use!

I can't wait for summer because I intend to re-invent myself! Mum said to me last week that 'it's all down hill after 21' but I am determined not to let that happen! So here is my plan:
~ Attack body with some kind of tightening/firming/anti-cellulite product ~ possibly Lancôme Slim Success ~ Find some kind of anti-ageing hand cream to counteract the fact that I have neglected my hands recently ~ Continue with Micro-Dermabrasion and have facials if it does not work ~ Tan all the time with L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Gel ~ Start working out ~ Get a new foundation ~ possibly L'Oreal Infallible

| Re-Finish ~ 2nd Use |
[03 Jun 2006|12:41pm] |
I found that the second use gave much the same results as the first - my skin is definitely softer and smoother. It is recommended that you use the kit 2/3 times per week. I'm doing 3 because I used to have a micro-dermabrasion facial (called Acuderm) every month and I don't have sensitive skin, so I should be ok. More updates when I've used it again!
[EDIT] I woke up this morning with NO SPOTS!

| Re-Finish ~ First Use |

I'm really impressed already - I've used the kit and my skin is definitely softer and smoother. The exfoliation step made my skin feel like it had been spring-cleaned and then the moisturiser really soothed it. My make-up went on really smoothly and overall my skin looks healthy. This is all after one use - so I can't wait to see the results as I use it more!

| L'Oreal Sublime Bronze |
[27 May 2006|12:45pm] |
I have just tanned! I used L'Oreal Sublime Bronze, the tinted gel formulation. This really is the best one I've used yet. I mean, better than St. Tropez or Fake Bake.
It's a gorgeous texture, with loads of bronzy shimmering particles in. It's tinted so you can see where you're applying it and you have a lovely glow right away! I think the particles help it to spread really easily as well.
It develops in a few hours (as most do) and I find that I only need one application to look a satisfactory brown colour.
The best feature, though, is how long it lasts once applied. I applied my last Sunday and it's still visible. It hasn't gone patchy like St. Tropez can, or the daily moisturisers (like Johnson's etc.) it's just perfect, even colour.

Since deciding I need to do something about the scarring on my face, I have researched into micro-dermabrasion. The one that I will most likely buy is L'Oreal ReFinish Micro-Dermabrasion Kit. It is affordable and I have read very good reviews at Ciao. Apparently your skin glows immediately after the treatment, it feels really smooth, and after repeated use it does improve the texture of your skin overall. I have actually tried this kit once. I received a sample in a magazine and used it before work one day. One of my colleagues told me that my skin looked amazing! That was after only one use, so imagine a few weeks of twice-weekly usage! People are complaining that it is costly (varies between £10-£22) but if it works that well and gives 30 applications, that really is good value. Also on my wish list!

Ok, I've head that Lancôme's Slim Success (Anti-cellulite attack serum with lipolyzer™) is an absolute miracle worker for cellulite improvement and general skin tone. Apparently it costs £30 (which I don't think is too bad for a body treatment), has to be used twice daily (which is a bit of a drag) but works pretty soon, "after 1 week, the effectiveness on the appearance of cellulite was noticed by 71%* of women. And 2 weeks after the end of the treatment, the results still visible. That's rather impressive, so it is definitely on my wish list!

I've just been complimented on my skin by my Dad! So I put it down to the skincare I'm using. I've just changed from Dr. Hauschka because I didn't feel like it was really cleaning my skin. It left a kind of filmy layer, which is supposed to be important - "maintains the pH balance so that the acidic barrier protecting your skin is not broken down" - but to me it felt kind of greasy. Plus I was still getting blemishes. So now I'm just using a Clinique cleanser (Liquid Mild Facial Soap) a St. Ives exfoliator for oily/problem skin, and a Biotherm moisturiser. I've never used Biotherm before and received this sample from Selfridges and I'm impressed so far. It smells GORGEOUS and is a gel/cream formula so it's non-greasy.
Seeing as I have no blemishes at the moment, my main concern is acne scarring. I have some red patches which need to be cleared up! So I'm looking into micro-dermabrasion. I might try one of the at-home kits and see how I get on, failing that I will start having Acuderm facials again because they worked (but they are expensive - £45 for 45 minutes!)
